I have been love stricken by @thesurreynyc . The understated and quiet luxury of this gem in the upper east side is refreshing. The warm neutral tones are a warm welcome after strolling in the concrete and glass jungle that Manhattan has turned into. @beaurivagepalace you will always be my home in Lausanne. This stay has been the “revelation” stay of the year. I went into it not knowing what to expect and walked out: rested, rejuvenated, inspired, and in love. Everything during this stay was spot on in the things that truly matter. It is very rare for me to encounter a hotel where I don’t want to leave and just want to stay in and discover all the things the hotel has to offer. I actually enjoyed the fickle weather because it meant I was able to wear my multiple “resort chic” outfits.

It is very rare when a hotelier “sells you a dream” and when you stay it comes close to what they promised. No presentation or pictures can do this hotel justice. It is a true diamond 💎. A hotel where I would return countless times and share it with people I love.

If you are in @interlaken or @grindelwald_eiger going up to the @jungfraujochtopofeurope is a must! Regardless of the altitude sickness the views from the gondola and from the view point were stunning. I wish I had had more time in this region to do some of the other activities and visit more towns outside of Interlaken and Grindelwald.

The beauty of travel is that it sometimes teaches you things you didn’t know about yourself (like altitude sickness). The question is whether you choose to get upset or pivot towards something unexpected. Nothing stopped me from reaching the top of Europe last month, once there the altitude sickness hit I and I chose to pivot. I wasn’t going to risk tripping and falling in the snow, not feeling 100%. So I came up with a Plan B.

I went back down, hopped on a train, then on a bus, walked 150m downhill, up on a fernicular, hiked (or walked uphill) 50m, and found my Plan B. I tobogganed three times in a row and fulfilled a lifelong dream. Words can’t express the joy and freedom that I felt that day.

Also, I packed and put on my red turtle neck and “Vienna” the headband just for this outing. I wasn’t going to let the outfit be ruined by some altitude sickness 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Not all chocolates or businesses are created equal. One of the most captivating experiences during my trip in Switzerland was visiting the @maxchocolatier factory in Lucerne. A family company built on Max’s dream of owning a chocolate factory and inspired by Wonka the movie. Max’s father Patrick committed to make his son’s dream come true opened Max Chocolatier. A place where only the highest quality ingredients make their way into their chocolates. Beyond the chocolate, the story of this place is what truly INSPIRED me.

Jet Set Holiday… first and maybe last time I fly @easyjet . I have never encountered staff so unfriendly throughout my travels. What was most alarming was when I was asked if I truly needed the seatbelt extender. I quickly replied that if my body left the seat for even an inch for in case the cabin lost pressure, how great he would look on trending in international news. I was not handed the extender until the flight was nearly done taxiing. Even though I purchased all of the add ons, the experience was still like a Zoo. All travel/flight etiquette went out the window on this flight. I tried managing my expectations. But, even the lowest were not met.

Thank goodness my flight wasn’t the one affected by the emergency, but just witnessing it put me on over drive.

I promise I won’t complain about @united , @airfrance , @british_airways , or any signature airline for a couple of months.

I had a first hand experience with @pixaroundyou in Paris when @eluxfrance_officiel booked the best photography class/tour. Honestly, I can’t wait to return and go out with Vika and learn more from her. She was my teacher, but she is an even better photographer!

I can’t believe it’s been a year since my Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride Trip! Hana has my heart and I can’t wait to hopefully return soon! There are few places on Earth where I have felt being one with Nature and Hana Maui is one of those places. @hanamauiresort has Jeeps on property for fun island exploration. Most importantly I learned that when around the right group of people I can be coerced into hiking. Also, Mai Thai’s are a great alternative when cocos are not available.

One just needs to have a hatchet 🪓 or machete if one wants a coco 🌴🤷🏻‍♀️.

I am amongst the most privileged humans in the world. I get to visit beautiful countries, meet wonderful people, and experience unforgettable activities. But, sometimes I have to work with humans that make me question if there is any humanity in them. It’s sobering and eye opening. It has taught me that self worth has nothing to do with money and everything to do with grace. I now make it a habit to be selective not only with my preferred partners but clients as well.

I understand that travel can be stressful and sometimes emotions run high when things don’t go as planned or the pricing is higher than expected. If only I could control the: weather, flight cancellations, European strikes, and hotel rates. If I could price Parisian hotels myself I would as well (some are worth every penny and others are just priced according to the market 🤷🏻‍♀️). But, cancelled flights or high hotel rates does not give anyone the right to treat anyone with disrespect. I also have zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior towards my partners. I hate days when I have to let some clients go. But, if there is something I have learned is that my sanity and peace of mind is priceless. We are all humans and trying our best to just get through life in the crazy world we live in.

So… Be kind and considerate.

Miami was fun. But, take me back to @sixsensesvana . Words can’t express how special and transformative Six Senses Vana can be if you are open to it. Each treatment was more healing than the previous one. The mix of Ayurvedan, Tibetean, and Western methods used allows for each stay to be truly tailor made. It was so refreshing not being allowed to use my phone outside of my room and taking mental pictures with my brain. I also loved that I didn’t even have to worry about what to wear.

This was without a doubt one of the best hotels I have had the privilege to stay in over the last couple of years. I was surprised by the number of female solo travelers and small group of friends that were at the hotel. I would suggest a stay of five nights minimum. But, if I could I would stay two whole weeks to work through some personal goals.

Feeling amongst the most privileged of humans. After three hours of scouting, off-roading, listening to monkey calls, and looking for paw prints. At the very last minute we were able to spot one of the dominant males at @ranthambore_national_park . Many people go multiple times and are unable to get a sighting. I couldn’t have asked for a better place or sighting as my first Safari experience.

Feeling amongst the most privileged of humans. After three hours of scouting, off-roading, listening to monkey calls, and looking for paw prints. At the very last minute we were able to spot one of the dominant males at @ranthambore_national_park . Many people go multiple times and are unable to get a sighting. I couldn’t have asked for a better place or sighting as my first Safari experience.

Over the last couple of days people have been asking me what inspired me to want to go to India. The answer is simple: The National Geographic Magazines at my grandparents home. I had been searching for the issues of @natgeo that planted the seed of wonder towards India all those years ago. I finally found them!

My grandparents house is were I spent most of my afternoons as a little girl. They had every @natgeo magazine from 1965 -2002. I used to browse at them as if they were comic books and my grandfather used to get mad at me for messing up their chronological order 🤷🏻‍♀️. As any small child would, I selected the ones with interesting covers and just flipped through them. I could have never imagined that those magazines would have such a lasting impression within me. I was too young and didn’t know how to read. But, the covers and the pictures within those magazines continue to inspire me to this day.

I have an extensive photographic memory for things that fuel wonder and excitement within me. It is one of the many reasons I am good at my job 🤷🏻‍♀️. I often refer to my brain as my mind palace or mental rolladex of destinations, hotels, and experiences. I am so grateful for this gift and how it keeps me connected to my grandparents.

With this trip one of my childhood dreams will come true. Thank you @ambertours for helping me put together a wonderful itinerary for the soul(o) parts of my journey. Above all, this is my new favorite @fourseasons for its service and being a true Destination Resort. I have stayed in 20+ beach resorts in Mexico and this one is truly special. There is no such thing as a bad room in this hotel. It is also 💯 worth the journey to get there.

It brought clarity into my life and allowed me to open my heart. It also allowed me to embrace and lean into FUN from time to time 🦩.

I love what I do. But, some days/weeks feel like a roller coaster. It is during crazy days/weeks that I am most grateful for my preferred partners and all the magic they make happen. It is team work at the end of the day. Today, I’m grateful for that.

Yes, I carved out 30 minutes to ride the rollercoaster at @santamonicapier . I would have preferred the Ferris wheel but they don’t allow solo riders. So, I had to settle for the roller coaster 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I love what I do. But, some days/weeks feel like a roller coaster. It is during crazy days/weeks that I am most grateful for my preferred partners and all the magic they make happen. It is team work at the end of the day. Today, I’m grateful for that.

What a whirlwind of a week of events in LA between Virtuoso On Tour, IHG Road Show, and PROST LA. I am privileged to not only work with some of these people, but to be able to call them my friends.

What a whirlwind of a week of events in LA between Virtuoso On Tour, IHG Road Show, and PROST LA. I am privileged to not only work with some of these people, but to be able to call them my friends.

Yo ho, yo ho, a Travel Advisors life for me!

My Disney Family Cruise exceeded all of my expectations. It was hard for me to wrap my head around going on a Disney cruise with my family without kids of my own and not being used to so many kids around me at the same time . I still would only recommend the experience to “Disney Adults” or families. It is an easy way to plan a family vacation involving various families and budgets.

The level of service and entertainment on board rivaled and at times exceeded the service from some five star properties. The Disney Magic was the oldest and smallest ship in their fleet. But, it didn’t feel dated or old. Our Verandah cabin had the capacity of up to 4 persons. The cabins can be easily divided by two curtains giving the guests in the living room area privacy and personal space. The two kids pool/wet areas were crowded but it was to be expected. But, the adults only pool was actually bigger than the kids pools with plenty of chairs and tables for grown ups needing a break from the madness. The entertainment and plays were Broadway level shows with the special effects and talent in the cast. But, Sofia enjoyed Pirate Night and the whole family committed to the assigned task.

Would I be willing to go on another Disney Cruise? Only if my nieces are going and it’s a short cruise.

Is this a product I will endorse and sell to my clients? Absolutely!

Nothing brings me greater joy than to be able to extend some of it back when possible. It makes me truly happy when close friends/partners come to Houston. Being able to pick them up or drop them off and carving out special time is one of my many love languages. I am also known for sending Crumbl to partners from time to time 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I don’t feel comfortable with all the “wining& dining” that comes with my job. I know that hotels have expense accounts. But, I love the rare occasion when I am able to slip my credit card to the waiter or the off chance that the restaurant we go to doesn’t accept Amex (thank you Europe).

I have learned to do good and go above and beyond expecting nothing in return. While always being grateful for everything ❤️. I am at a point where fancy dinners or the bag you have doesn’t impress me. Honest and genuine interactions is what builds trust and makes me want to work with people. The beauty of my neurodivergent brain is that it can smell BS from a mile away and try to steer clear away from it.

So when I make time to drive down for an event or offer to pick/drop you off it’s truly a sign of love above all.

36 Hours in Koh Samui wasn’t enough! It was however the most relaxing 36 hours of 2024. I am so grateful for Remko the amazing GM at @banyan_tree_samui . He literally booked me a room right after meeting me when he found out I was going to Thailand. I am so happy that I changed all my plans around to make it happen. Koh Samui is not like The Caribbean or Mediterranean and here are some things that you should know if it’s on your list.

Lessons from Koh Samui:
1. Getting to and from Koh Samui is really easy. The Koh Samui airport despite its small size has some of the best connectivity in Thailand. @bangkokairways has fabulous service.
2. The beaches are beautiful, but do not expect white and powder like sand.
3. Do not try and rent a scooter unless you have a death wish or have very good travel insurance.
4. The hotel you choose is VERY important since it will influence: views, wind gusts, and noise levels.
5. If you want to go to Koh Samui let’s start planning before Episode 2 of White Lotus comes out.

Some of the best memories and most genuine smiles came from these moments last year. I would have never imagined that I could enjoy the pool as much as the ocean if it wasn’t for Lola 🦩. It is beautiful to see city skylines from Ferris Wheels 🎡. You will never forget that one time you rode a carousel 🎠 with friends and how hard the laughs were.

You only live once. I encourage you to do one thing you wish you had done or loved as a kid when traveling. Remember that by doing it you might be inspiring someone else to step out of their comfort zone and do it as well. Because, travel above all is meant to be inspiring.
